Goal-setting is an excellent way to achieve great things and enjoy success, especially when it comes to working out. Aiming for a particular number on the scale, attempting to beat a world record (yes, I will be going for the crunches record again) or fitting into an outfit deemed unattainable, are deliciously satisfying endeavors. It means you’ve got guts, moxy, chutzpah, strength and determination. It means you can do anything you put your mind to and nothing can stop you.
With that in mind, I’d like to congratulate our very own boot camper, Solen Roth for completing the half marathon in Victoria this past weekend in under two hours! The half marathon is 21.0975 kilometres (13.1094 miles) and Solen clocked in at 1 hour and 47 minutes. Not bad at all when you consider the records for the fastest women in the world are between 1:07:00 - 1:15:00. Bravo, Solen! Very impressive.
As for your drill sergeant, I just reached my one-year anniversary of doing consistent Bikram Yoga (every day for the first six months, then no less than 5x a week for the last six months…yes, I did it on my trips out of town too). Last year, I was getting t-shirts made to say: “F*** YOGA” and this year, I can almost touch my toes (that is the goal. Don’t worry, I’ll post it when it happens, with pictures and all). I’ve finally learned the importance of stretching: milestone reached.
And lastly, the Texas Rangers have made it to the American League Championship Series! What an accomplishment! And where do the best steaks in the world come from? That’s right! TEXAS!! Go Texas! You can do it! World Series, here they come!
Do you have a goal/milestone/accomplishment you’ve achieved? Let me know and I’ll post it to help inspire others!
